We did a work sheet on the mother son poem and looked more in depth at the meaning and messages in the poem.

We read poem #2 and answered the questions about it. We also talked about the meanings behind the poem and how many African Americans fought for equal rights and being seen as equal in the minds of everyone.

we answered questions about poem #1 and talked about the importance of where you came from but also the views and fights that many african american felt during that time. We also talked about how langston hughes used imagery and messages in his poem.

Today we talked about our roots and the places we came from. The fact that many of us are from many completely different parts of the world and that we are the mashing of all of those different regions into one.
